We've all heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. While there's no shortage of go-to breakfast spots in this city (think The Diner, Blind Dog Café, Ted's Bulletin, etc.), there are some killer lunch and dinner spots that offer morning dishes, too. Here are six worth expanding your hours for:

Room 11
3234 11 St., NW; Sunday - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Friday - Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
With the recent(ish) expansion of Room 11, came new breakfast hours, meaning all those brunch pastries we got to enjoy on the weekend, we can now enjoy every single day. Incidentally, we also wear more elastic-waisted pants these days. Worth it.

District Taco
DC location: 1309 F St., NW; Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Arlington location: 5723 Lee Highway; Monday - Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday - Sunday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

While most of us frequent District Taco for this establishment's lunch and dinner selections, like the phenomenal Burrito Majado, the breakfast menu, which is available all day, is worth checking out. Two words: huevos rancheros.

Johnny's Half Shell
400 N Capitol St., NW; Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Before it starts dishing up some of DC's most awesome seafood dishes, this Capitol Hill establishment is a favorite for early morning Hill types hoping to make power moves over plates of Eggs Benedict, Grillades and Grits or a basket full of Beignets.

MGM Roast Beef
905 Brentwood Rd., NE; Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Roast beef for breakfast? Don't knock it till you try it. This Northeast DC deli makes a mean Beef and Egg Croissant Sandwich, as well as kick-ass pancakes, french toast, waffles, omlettes and even grits. Plus, the prices can't be beat; everything's well under $10.

Taylor Gourmet
Various locations and hours
This Italian sandwich shop has made one heckuva tasty impression on DC, and now with its breakfast menu, that impression is getting tastier. Forget about the basic egg, cheese and bacon and order the Queen Lane, made with sausage, broccoli rabe, eggs and sharp provolone. Hours vary by location, so check the website for specifics.
