Despite the fact that our rad city is filled with sushi restaurants—not all of them are created equal. And because bad sushi is just not something you want to mess around with (and because we’re awesome), we created this handy list of our five favorite Nashville sushi spots so you can skip the whole process of elimination bull and get down to business.

Samurai Sushi
Don’t let the less-than-glamorous decor at Samurai fool you, because they seriously know what they’re doing when it comes to sushi. The fish and veggies are always super fresh, the prices are reasonable and the rolls never fall apart on you (we really hate when that happens). Balanced between creative options and standard favorites, there’s a little something for everyone on the menu at Samurai.

O’Sake Japanese Sake & Sushi
We get pretty excited when a dish is not only delicious but comes to us looking like a work of art. And that’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from Elliston Place (it’s located across from Gold Rush) sushi bar, O’Sake. The menu is pretty extensive and features 40 specialty rolls plus 40 regular rolls for a total of 80 delicious options. Bonus? O’Sake is offering a pretty sweet Scoutmob dealright now.

If you’re looking for a little ambiance with your sashimi, then this higher-end spot is where you’re going to want to go. Recently recognized as a “Top 100 Restaurant Hotspots in the U.S.” in the OpenTable diners survey, Virago has been servin’ up some of the city’s best sushi for the last 12 years in a trendy, energetic lounge scene.

Ken’s Sushi Japanese Restaurant
For super wallet-friendly rolls ($1.50-$5.00) that’ll satisfy your sushi craving without breaking the bank, Ken’s is a must-try. While the options aren’t super creative, the menu is packed with an array of delicious, straightforward rolls, including a few vegetarian and vegan options.

Located in Edgehill Village, Nomzilla does sushi a little differently. While they have several rolls available on the menu (we love the Fruit-Ge-Table Roll), they also offer the option to completely create your own (hear that, picky eaters?). Like a little spice? Nomzilla’s Scorpion Roll is made with the hottest pepper known to man. In fact, it’s so incredibly spicy that no one’s ever managed to finish the entire thing. Are you up to the challenge? We believe in you. And we’ve got this here Scoutmob deal to prove it.
