With a large and welcoming space, local beers on tap, and a menu boasting high quality pizza (among other grub), Cameli’s L5P spot has everything we look for in a neighborhood joint. For two decades, Cameli’s has been the type of neighborhood pizzeria that makes us feel comfortable and relaxed the second we walk in the door. Lucky for us, that feeling can now be found beyond their original spot on Ponce, thanks to the 2012 addition of a Little 5 Points location. The Moreland Avenue Cameli’s offers the same menu and welcoming environment that we’ve come to love, but with a larger space and a primo spot in the heart of Little 5.
The vibe at Cameli’s may be laid-back and casual, but the food screams of quality and attention to detail. The New York style thin crust pizza is hand tossed everyday and made with super fresh ingredients. There’s nothing better than sharing an ‘Olympiad’ – house-made meatballs and tomato sauce covered with pesto ricotta and parmesan – with a group of friends, except perhaps conquering the ‘Infamous Monster Slice.’ This gigantic single slice cut from a 28” pie and served with your choice of sauce and toppings is big enough – and tasty enough – to satisfy even the largest appetite. While pizza may be Cameli’s first love, the menu’s delicious selection of burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and wings will satisfy any culinary craving. Also, with 14 rotating beers on tap, and a seasonally changing menu of specialty cocktails, Cameli’s fulfills everything we look for in a neighborhood watering hole. Whether you’re looking to eat, drink, or do a little of both, Cameli’s is the type of place that could quickly become your new regular spot.
