While all of your favorite local brews and whiskey selections are staying put, HOBNOB is shaking up their menu with new seasonal dishes (pork and veal meatloaf, anyone?) alongside their signature tavern fare staples.Since 2009, HOBNOB has been the Midtown destination for beer lovers to find a quality assortment of craft brews, with a focus on local breweries. In recent years, the neighborhood pub – founded by the folks behind Gilbert’s – has developed a whiskey program to rival its beer selection, with over a hundred local and regional bourbons and ryes in-house. Of course, we can’t talk about HOBNOB without tipping our hats to its delicious menu of chef-driven tavern fare. There are several fall/winter additions to its menu, meaning it’s the perfect time to come and taste everything that HOBNOB has to offer.
The new fall menu features some exciting ‘chefed-up’ comfort food classics, like Pork and Veal Meat Loaf, served with basil mashed potatoes, and a red pepper-tomato relish. There’s also some delicious experimentation going on in the HOBNOB kitchen, as shown in the New Generation Duck Nachos, which top crispy corn tortillas with duck confit, fontina cheese, and a homemade and fig jam, to create a sweet and savory play on the classic appetizer. At HOBNOB its always wise to save room for dessert, because the menu is stocked with several can’t-miss sweet treats, like pumpkin spice cheese cake, a shareable 7-layer carrot cake, and gluten-free crème Brule cheese cake. Of course, there’s no better companion for HOBNOB’s elevated pub-grub than a pint from your favorite local pub, or even a bourbon from the constantly growing selection of local distilleries.
